Littlest LOLART DESCRIPTION (Course CODE: LL)

What We Do:

There is nothing ordinary within a child’s mind! Once endless inspiration is offered, extraordinary works are created.

Original lesson plans creatively combine traditional artist’s materials with elements from nature, textiles and household objects.  Complex concepts such as composition, contrast, balance, variety and texture are condensed for the big minds within little artists. Our Littlest Lolarters will also show and tell! 

The LOL Art Method helps children develop a personal interest in the topic and expand their imagination by encouraging them to develop their own story about the theme. Our classes begin with stories linking the topic/theme to the children on a personal level. This is when little artists show what hard workers they are, an experience every child desires. Our playful but structured manner promotes risk taking, builds self-esteem and grows self-expression preparing children for success in school.

What We Know:

• They love to work with their hands. They love to imitate adults using drawing and painting tools.
• They love to chat about their work and all the possibilities it represents. 
• They love to draw lines. They are curious about how lines can turn into shapes.
• They love to draw familiar objects. So much so that they will be continuously doing it.

What We Suggest:

1.      Children must be at least 3 years-old on the session start date, and may be accompanied by an adult if so desired to assist with personal needs or just as moral support!.

2.      Children should wear appropriate clothing. (We do provide smocks but art can be messy!)

Classes are offered quarterly (Four semesters is ideal to achieve the maximum benefit). Each semester is composed of 7-9 weekly classes including a final “show and tell” which parents are invited to attend.
