Registration Q. How do I choose the right program for me/my child? A. Review the program chart and read the course descriptions then choose the course that is appropriate for the student's age and skill level. If there are no suitable classes for you, please advise us by phone or email (416.250.8110 x.101 or service@lolart.ca). Q. How do I register? A. Register online here, read and agree to the school policies and pay the tuition fees. You can register online using a credit card or PayPal account. To make a payment by e-transfer, please email Lolart at account@lolart.ca. Once we receive your payment, a confirmation e-mail will be sent. Q. If the student's age is between two levels, which level should I register for? A. Depending on the student's background, we often recommend beginning with the lower level so that the student does not become frustrated in a class that is too hard. If they progress quickly, they may move up to the next level. This way, the student will feel more comfortable and have more confidence. Q. I don’t have a PayPal account, can I still register online? A. Yes, you may use your credit card to register online. Follow the instructions for registration here. Q. Can I register in person? A. Yes, you can fill out our registration form in person and pay by cash, cheque, credit card or debit. Please note that cancellations for in-person registrations will require a $35 admin fee which will be deducted from your refund. Q. Can I register by phone? A. We cannot accept registrations by phone, as the registration form needs to be signed and accompanied by payment to complete enrollment. Q. Am I guaranteed a space in a class if I have attended it earlier? A. We do not reserve spots for previous students. All students must re-register as their session comes to an end or the space will be opened to new students. Q. What is the maximum number of students in one class? A. Art & Giggle, Proudness, and Achievement (AG, AP, AA) - 8 students Portfolio - 4 students Clay classes - 4 students Camp - 8 If the class of your choice is full, you may choose to be put on a waiting list. We will contact you when space becomes available. Q. When do classes begin? A. Classes are ongoing, you may register at any time. The tuition fee will be pro-rated for late enrollment. Trial Classes and Make-up Classes Q. Are there free trial classes for new students? A. Unfortunately, we do not have free trials; however, students have the option to withdraw before their third class. A written notice (via e-mail to account@lolart.ca) must be sent prior to the third class to qualify for a prorated refund. If your payment was made online, the remaining tuition fee will be prorated and refunded to your credit card or Paypal account. For in-person registrations (cash, debit, credit card or cheque), a $35 admin fee will be deducted and a refund cheque will be issued). For this reason, we highly recommend online registrations to avoid the $35 admin fee. Q. Can I visit the school before I register? A. Of course! We have classes throughout the day so make sure to call or email us first to schedule a visit. Visits usually last 10-15 minutes. You’ll be able to see our studio, see our students' and teachers' wonderful works, and talk to the teacher! Please see our contact page for our contact info and current business hours. Q. May I come to observe a class? A. We do have windows to peek in on classes, however, due to limited space, we can't allow guests or visitors into the rooms during class time. Q. I missed a class/My class was cancelled, can I get a make-up class? A.
Fees and Payment Q. What are the costs for classes? A. Please click this link for details on the cost and schedule for each program. Q. Are materials included in the tuition fee? A. All drawing, painting and clay materials are provided by the school. Please note, for in-person digital art classes, a drawing tablet will be provided. For online digital art classes, students are expected to bring/use their own drawing tablet. Q. Are refunds or credits available? A. For year-round programs: Students have the option to withdraw before their third class. A written notice of cancellation must be sent by email to account@lolart.ca prior to the third class to qualify for a prorated refund. A $35 admin fee will be deducted from the refund for both online and in-person registrations. (Service Standard for mailed cheques: 10 business days) Q. Are there any discounts available? A. Currently, there is no discount available. Directions Q. Where is the art school located? A. Currently there are three Lolart studios located in North York and Toronto East. Please see our Contact page for details. Q. Is there Parking? A. For the North York locations, there are free parking spots located around the building. Please note that our North York, Sheppard & Bathurst location has a 30-min parking limit. You may park at the plaza by Metro where there is no parking limit. Our Pape/Danforth location does not have free parking, but there is paid parking right across the Pape Subway Station. Q. How do I get to the school? What qualifications do the instructors have? A. All of our instructors are professional, working artists and have post-secondary training. We strive to provide high-quality, hands-on experiences in the arts, aimed at fostering a love of art. Q. How do I apply for a job at LOLART? A. Feel free to bring in or e-mail us your resume. We will contact you for an interview if there are suitable positions. Q. Can I complete a co-op or internship position at LOLART? A.
